Decalcomania - Acrylic Workshop
Acrylic Painting Workshop for Creative Exploration
Unleash your imagination through Decalcomania, a surrealist painting technique that invites spontaneity and discovery. In this two-part acrylic workshop, you’ll press wet paint between two surfaces to create unexpected forms and patterns. Then, using light and shadow, you’ll learn how to bring these abstract shapes to life.
All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own canvas, acrylic-ready surface, paints, or brushes if you’d like to personalize your experience.

Journal Upcycling
Bring an old book that has seen better days from a little free library, a thrift shop, or choose a book from the selection provided in the workshop. Using everything from paint, to old magazines and glue you will completely reimagine your book. Old books are a perfect guide, blank pages can be intimidating and words and pictures in books can help guide our creativity and allow us to transform them in to anything. Using an old book takes the pressure of perfection away from beginning a new journal. Make a mistake? Cover it up with paint or a vintage advertisement for leave-in curlers or Kraft Dinners. This workshop is about letting go of the idea of perfection and using collage to tell your own story. If you have photos, old magazines, or any other collage materials that you want to use in your journal please bring them.
